Easter celebrations will take place in Italy, from April 2nd to 7th. Easter on Amalfi Coast is a deeply felt holiday. Amalfi and Minori put on two spectacular performances for this holiday. Performances celebrate and immortalize the Passion of Jesus. These celebrations protagonist are: the flagellant (in italian: flagellanti o battenti), people dressed in white through the the town. In Minori, the “battenti” are part of identity and history of this small town and are distinguished from the others by the songs they sing. Infact these song are protected by the Ministry of Culture.

An event that is certainly important is the feast of Sant’Andrea (the patron saint of the city) which is held on June 27th. The festival ends with a spectacular fireworks!

On August 30th and September 1st there is: the Capodanno Bizantino. Il Capodanno Bizantino is the event with which every year Amalfi immerses itself in its Medieval atmosphere. Pages, ladies and knights will parade throught the city and there will be the proclamation of the new Magister of Amalfi civilization.

An event definitely not to be missed is The Ravello Festival. It takes place in Ravello, and is a series of initiatives where orchestras, illustrious artistic directors, italian and foreign singers alternate throughout the summer. The Ravello Festival is most important and has a European caliber.

In Conca instead, towards the end of the August, a gastronomic event takes place entirely dedicated to the famous Sfogliatella Santa Rosa. History tell us that it was created by the nuns of the Convent of the same name who lived here in Conca dei Marini. Finally, on July 23rd there will be the Sea Festival (la Festa del Mare), a festival dedicated to the centuries_ old relationship between the sea and the man. Therer will be dancing and tasting of local products.

Other important events that will take place on the Amalfi Coast are: Le Luminarie di San Domenico in Praiano luminariadisandomenico.it . The patronal festival of Atrani dedicated to Santa Maria Maddalena that will be held on July 22. The GustaMinori, a gastronomic event that takes place every year in the city of Minori and that will be held on August 29 and 30.

AMERICA’S CUP 2027

Important news for next year is the AMERICA’S CUP. The most famous international sailing trophy will be held in Naples. Races between now-legendary boats will take place in the stunning Gulf of Naples. “America’s Cup fever” will undoubtedly also affect the Amalfi Coast, just a few kilometers from Naples.
